LZ 127 ZEPPELIN was the most proficient and successful type of Zeppelin airship ever created, making a lasting impression on history that has yet to be surpassed. From 1900 to 1938, the Graf Zeppelin company GmbH designed and produced more than 100 airships in 27 different patterns. The most massive one, the 1938 LZ 129, had a length of 245 meters, a diameter of 41.2 meters and a volume of 200,000 m3. The four Daimler diesel engines were capable of 4,200 PS, allowing the airship to reach a top speed of 131 km/h and a travel range of 12,000 kilometers to destinations such as Japan, North America, and South America.
